On requestLearning Paths
Turn courses into learning paths of ordered steps; the next course opens on its own once earlier required steps are done, and you track progress at program level. Available on request.
A development path instead of separate courses
A development program for new managers, or the basic, intermediate and advanced training for a product family, is made of courses that follow one another. A learning path brings these courses together in the right order: each step can be required or optional, the next course opens once earlier required steps are completed, and the person is enrolled in it automatically. You assign the path to people or units once; progress moves forward on its own, and you follow the percentage at program level. Learning paths are enabled for your organization on request; set up a call to talk through your programs.
- Learning in the right order People do not move on to the advanced level before finishing the basic course.
- Enrollment moves forward by itself When a step opens, the person is enrolled in the next course automatically.
- Earlier completions count A course completed outside the path also counts for the step in the path.
- Program-level visibility You see progress per path, not course by course.
What can you do?
-
Ordered steps
Add up to 50 courses to a path as ordered steps; mark each step as required or optional.
-
Step locking
A step opens when the required steps before it are completed; optional steps do not block progress.
-
Assign to people or units
Assign the path to people or to a unit; optionally include sub-units and people who join the unit later.
-
My learning paths
Learners see their assigned paths and their open and locked steps on their own page.
-
Unit manager view
Unit managers follow their team's path progress in read-only mode.
-
Progress report
For each path, the number of people assigned and completed, and the average progress rate.
Before and after
Before
Courses in a program are assigned one by one, in order, by hand.
Next
The path is assigned once; the next course opens as steps are completed.
Before
No one knows where each person is in the program.
Next
Progress per path appears in the report.
Before
A course someone already finished is required again in the program.
Next
A course completed outside the path also counts for the step in the path.

How do we start using learning paths?
The module is enabled for your organization on request; all it takes is a call. Once enabled, you build paths from your existing courses.
What can the steps of a path be?
Steps are courses. Content such as exams, assignments and live classes sits inside the course that makes up the step.
When is a path considered complete?
The path is complete when all required steps are completed. The progress rate is the share of required steps completed out of all required steps.
Do paths have due dates, reminders or a certificate?
Certificates are issued under each course's own completion rule; there is no separate certificate for the path. For training that needs a due date and reminders, the mandatory training module is used (also available on request).
